It is hard to imagine a better boat for cruising the tough and challenging waters of the Irish Sea than this boat - "Prudence of Yar", with classic lines, uncompromising sea-going design and build - and the smell of yacht varnish envelops you when you open the wheelhouse door.
Make no mistake - this is not just a blue water Med cruiser - this is a classic heavy duty, heavy weather off... read more
The well trusted Contention 33 was originally reviewed by Yachting World magazine back in 1976, describing her as a "3/4 Tonner of just the right size for a racing boat which can be made into a sensible cruiser". A well found sea boat from the highly respected Doug Peterson and very well built by Southern Ocean Shipyard she was at the forefront of 3/4 ton design and led the field into Contessa 34 OOD and others.

Boatshed Lancashire are pleased to offer this popular Virgo Voyager with its unique junk rigged sail. Designed by Roy Lunney for Newbridge Boats, the Virgo Voyager is a strongly constructed small cruiser, with excellent accommodation. The high freeboard and cabin top needed to achieve this is disguised considerably by the styling. This is a nice tidy example that has been well maintained by the present owners who have used her predominantly in Scotland for the past 10 years. She comes out of the water every winter and the sail and running rigging are removed and cleaned ready for the following... read more
This is a lovely example of a real classic "pocket rocket". A fast cruiser optimised by Holman & Pye for the IOR rule, the Oyster 26 was one of the most popular of the early models, with 47 being built between 1978 and 1981. With her heavy fin keel and transom hung rudder, the Oyster 26 is fast, stiff and easy to handle. This example is in excellent condition and has been really well maintained over the years.
She was first launched in September 1979 under sail number GBR (K) 7203.
All the sails, running rigging, some of the electronics and spare anchor, chain, fenders, tiller etc are sti... read more
