Pauline is a ‘Calder and Hebble' Keel, an iron British Barge built in 1869 in Goole, Yorkshire, for the Aire and Calder Navigation Company. She is on the national historic ships register. She fits the northern waterways and wide canals of great Britain and has crossed the north sea, exploring the European inland waterways before returning to her mooring in Leigh, Lancashire.
Owned by the Lorenz family since 1976, Pauline was converted from an open hulled vessel by Paul Lorenz, and he put together the engine and has serviced it since, we have owned her for 46 years and have lived aboard since 1989. Pauline’s hull is built from 3/8” riveted iron, side decks 7mm steel, diesel tank hold 100 gallons and is full. Powered by a “Parsons Pike” engine, based on ford 4D, completely overhauled by Paul. She has a Vetus M205 6KW generator, a 600 gallon water tank and 50 gallon header tank. She comes as a fully equipped liveaboard.

There are 10 windows around the coamings and 3 large triplex polycarbonate walk on roof lights to bring in light to the main cabin.
From the deck a large sliding hatch leads to steps down into the Galley which has:

Storage under the side decks of the corridor and to the port side are bathroom and office/bunkroom. The bathroom has a full size bath and over bath shower, Servis Easi Logic 1300rpm washing machine, airing cupboard, sink/vanity unit and elsan toilet.
The bunk room has a permanent bunk with office below and storage.
The front cabin has a king sized double bed above the water tank, wardrobes and storage, a steel escape hatch over a ladder and a window hatch over the bed.
Behind the galley is the engine room, coal storage, a vetus generator- M205 6KW 644 hours then a back cabin with single bed which extends to double, fold down table and storage.
Pauline's hull is built in 1869 from iron laid like a clinker built boat ie overlapping strips of iron riveted together. Hull built from 3/8” riveted iron, decks 7mm german steel. Superstructure 4mm plate steel. Roof lights of triplex polycarbonate bring in light and run the length of the main cabin. 2 roof hatches. Hull is insulated with rockwool and the superstructure is 1" kingspan. Fit-out materials: Timber,â€¨ Floor - Sterling Board. Lining - Faced Plywood.
Pauline comes fully equipped for liveaboard and cruising the canals, she has a full 100 gallon tank of diesel, marine engine, ropes, fenders, windlasses, anchor, gas locker and bottled gas, spare engine.
