44ft traditional stern narrowboat for sale with optional long term mooring. Built by Braunston Canal Services in 1985 and rigarously maintained with several new items.
The large front deck has two lockers with seat tops and a small demountable table. The large stainless steel water tank is under the floor. It has a brand new cratch cover with windows.
Hardwood stable doors lead into the saloon with a dinette that converts to a double bed. Multifuel stove and TV. The galley features a gas oven and hob, new LEC 12v fridge and stainless sink.
The bathoom has a seperate shower cubicle on one side and a sink and toilet on the other (The toilet is a new Mansfield traveller sitting on a stainless pump out tank. Dividing doors can seal off the bathroom from the front and back giving the full width.
The back cabin has a choice of layouts: either two single bunks or one double crossbed. It benefits from built in cupboards, wardrobes including and airing cupboard with new calorifier and a set of drawers.
The engine compartment contains a BMC 1.5 4cyl diesel engine and a PRM hydraulic gearbox. Three batteries are currently fitted, two domestic and one starter. There is ample room to expand this. A basic 240v ring main is fitted with two sockets and a circuit breaker.
The engine is likely to be the original and although well maintained is now in need of reconditioning. [Low compression on all cylinders means it is difficult to start, but once running is fine. The engine will restart no problem once warm. Doesn't smoke excessively or use oil]
The asking price for the boat includes a warrantied long engine rebuild. Should a prospective purchaser wish to sort this out themselves we will be happy to consider a lower offer.
Topside repaint in 2005, blacked in 2006. Full out of water survey, including hull thicknesses (originally 10/6/4) in 2006 which we will be pleased to show to any prospective purchaser. New BSS in 2007
A secure long term rural mooring Northants/Cambs border may be available to the right buyer at £1056 per annum.
