60 ft narrowboat. Excellent hull made by GT of Stafford, presently used as a full-time home so fully equipped for liveaboard. Anybody that knows anything about narrowboats will apprechiate the excellent quality and lines of this GT Hull. Expertly finished to an exteremely high standard for modern living.
Trad stern, Perkins MC42 diesel engine, regularly serviced.
12 volts and 240 volts with a 1500 watt combination sterling inverter/battery charger/solar panel regulator and battery management system. New batteries last summer with BSC until 2010.
Shore Hook-up and galvonic isolator.
Colirifier, cassette toilet but, easily converted to pump-out if preferred as tank and plumbing in place. Gas cooker, new fridge and multi-burning log or coal, glass fronted stove in lounge area.
Spacious, modern, semi open-plan design with large foredeck for sitting or storage. Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space available.
From Rear:
Engine room with storage, colirifier, inverter, coat hangers etc.
Rear cabin with double bed, large built-in wardrobes with cupboard space plus 2 floor lockers and huge underbed storage area
Bathroom with pedestal sink, storage cupboard, bathroom cabinet, bath with shower.
Dinning area with large seating area, under seat storage, plus large floor locker, this converts into another double sleeping cabin.
Kitchen with plenty of cupboard space with chrome handles, black marble effect work tops and plate and pan racks. Gas cooker with grill, microwave, full size sink with chrome extendable tap with shower facility.
Lounge with Brunel multifuel stove and free standing furniture with shelving for dvds, cds books etc. leather settee and chair, small tables and wooden blinds fitted to every window.
Large Bow deck with large storage locker at front containing 2 gas bottles.
All items required to live aboard comfortably including 2 life jackets, anchor, life ring, twin tub washer etc.
23rd May 2008, boat dry docked at Wigan, for cleaning and hull blacking etc. If you scroll down the page you can see the quality of this hull. Photo taken in Wigan dry dock on Sunday 25th May 2008. Bank holiday weekend.

This lovely old boat,at one time,was based in Plymouth,built on the outbreak of war,was commisioned by the Admiralty to do harbour duties,...she was an Admiralty Harbour Launch (Diesel)... I bought her ten years ago,since then I have tried to make her a home At the moment she is rigged out for a single person living aboard,or a very friendly couple, I have most neccessities on board,but have tried to keep the accommodation as origional as I could,......Ie, lots of varnished wood, brass etc, and to fullfill my passion for yesteryear,old oil lamps etc..THE BIGGEST CABIN BY FAR, is the Engine room,...A 6 cylinder supercharged Foden, as supplied by the Admiralty,this engine works fine,although I have never moved the boat, I bought it as a hobby with the intention of using it,"I`ve been to busy"....If the Engine room was converted to living accommodation it would double the area...I am now retired. and find finances a bit hard, also getting on board is not easy.the river,(Witham at Boston),has a 20 foot range, so at low tide "it`s a long way down, I also plan to go to live in India........ |
